So, we got a puppy a few months back and she is a chompy little handful, but very intelligent. Decided to make this recipe so I’d have healthy, small treats to help reward her training. So far, doggo approved. Give them a try and let me know what you think in the comments!
Homemade Dog Training Treats (WFPB, GF)

2 cups oats, ground
1 large ripe banana
1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
1 cup peanut butter
Directions
- Add oats to food processor and blend into flour.
- Add remaining ingredients and blend into thick dough.
- Move dough to refrigerator and chill for 30 minutes.
- Heat oven to 300*F.
- Roll out dough on floured surface and cut into small shapes (mine were roughly the size of a nickel and about a centimeter tall).
- Place on parchment paper on a baking sheet.
- Cook for 15 minutes.
- Let cool before serving to dogs.
Notes
- Can be kept at room temperature for a few days, but I tend to freeze half and keep the other half in the refrigerator for longer stability.
